"Castle Blood is unlike any other haunted house I've ever been to. It emphasizes story and atmosphere over jump scares; the experience is far closer to an old Hammer horror film or maybe a Ray Bradbury short story (with a healthy dash of Addams Family humor thrown in) than it is to something like "Saw" or "Hostel." It's a great place to celebrate everything that is fun, creepy, and magical about Halloween. Oh, sure, you'll jump a few times, but the startle scares aren't the purpose of the haunt. You interact with characters, some of whom are sort of friendly (the witch) and some of whom are genuinely sinister. Also, they offer great customer service: when my tween daughter mentioned before entering the house that she found one vampire especially scary, he was assigned to our group as our guide! I recommend this place to anyone who has a fondness for classic horror (or Rocky Horror)."
