New Ownership Brings Exciting Additions To Fun Slides Park
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (August 10, 2018) – On August 1st, 2018 Fun Slides Park located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, opened their new attraction: Carpet Hockey. Kids aged 6 and older may participate in a 20 minute game of Carpet Hockey when they purchase either an Xtra Activity Ticket or an All Activities Wristband in addition to their admission. Fun Slides Park has also been taken under new ownership since May 1st, 2018. Wes Chastain, the former general manager of Fun Slides, purchased the business from Simtec Company.
“It is a blessing to be a part of Fun Slides Park and to be able to work with such great staff” says owner, Wes Chastain. “We have some really cool things at Fun Slides such as awesome birthday parties, a fun dance floor, affordable group rates, and an amazing STEM program.”
Wes has been employed at Fun Slides Park since 2013 after he moved to Pennsylvania from Panama City, Florida. As a former youth pastor, he knew that he enjoyed working with children and teens which lead him to excel in his position. In 2014, Wes became the general manager of Fun Slides Park. During his employment of being the general manager, the idea to install a carpet hockey rink was talked about among him and the former owners.
After a year of designing and building the rink, it officially opened August 1st. Guests wear their Fun Slides and suit up in safety gear with a numbered jersey on. Games typically last 15-20 minutes depending on the crowd level in the park that day. Other Xtra Activities such as Blacklight Dodgeball, Fun Slides Super Ninja Challenge, and the Glow N Bounce Slides are available to play as well with an Xtra Activity Ticket or All Activities Wristband.
“For only being open to the public for 10 days, it’s gone extremely well and we see that the guests are very excited about this new attraction” the owner mentioned. “It gives us an edge on the competition in our area because no one else can say they’ve played carpet hockey at another place [family entertainment center].”
Along with Carpet Hockey, Wes and his marketing manager, Kelsey Madeira have been brainstorming new ideas such as a group fitness class and a ‘mom and me’ night where guests can paint pictures with glow paint in our black light facility. They continue to create efforts that will lead the park to new and exciting levels to keep bringing guests back time after time.
